Director Of Student Services
The Director of Student Services will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of student-facing functions at UAM–CTM. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
- Recruit and retain students for technical programs and Associate of Applied Science degree offerings, with emphasis on underrepresented and non-traditional populations
- Guide students through admissions and financial aid processes, including the development and processing of student contracts with TAA, WIA, HDC, and other financial assistance providers
- Assist students with course registration, including evening and night registrations; establish and maintain accurate student records in accordance with institutional and regulatory requirements
- Enforce and monitor student services policies and procedures; support and monitor established retention activities
- Compile and analyze data for student services reports; assist with conducting completer/graduate and employer follow-up surveys to inform program effectiveness
- Coordinate and assist with activities and events of student organizations; support scheduling and administering of admissions-related testing
- Serve on institutional committees as assigned; develop and disseminate news articles and promotional/recruitment materials
- Participate in ongoing professional development activities aligned with best practices in community and technical college student services
- Supervise bookstore operations and employees; perform other duties as assigned by the Vice Chancellor
This is a full-time administrative position responsible for overseeing comprehensive student services operations across UAM–CTM's technical education programs. The Director plays a pivotal role in advancing student access, persistence, and success while supporting institutional compliance, accreditation, and workforce development goals.
Qualifications:
- A master's degree in education, higher education administration, student affairs, or a closely related field is required.
- Relevant work experience in a post-secondary or technical education environment is strongly preferred.
- Successful candidates will demonstrate:
- Proficient computer skills, including student information systems and data management platforms
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholder groups
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with staff, faculty, administrators, and students
- Willingness and availability to work evenings and weekends as required for promotional, recruitment, and college events
- Experience managing Perkins V federal funds and navigating related compliance, reporting, and audit processes is highly preferred
Salary Information:
