Electrical Systems Technology Instructor (Part-Time Faculty Pool)

Fresno City College is inviting applications for a part‑time instructor in Electrical Systems Technology. The role is part of the faculty pool and will provide instruction on campus and at off‑site community campus locations.

• Assist in recruiting and advising students.
• Partner with local manufacturing companies to develop and place on‑the‑job student internships.
• Participate in departmental co‑curricular activities such as clubs and related events.
• Perform duties related to categorical funding that include dual enrollment objectives.
• Attend regional and state‑level professional development conferences and meetings regarding dual enrollment or student success.
• Assist in the advancement of the institutional mission and goals.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
• Teach in a variety of instructional settings and times, including evening/weekend, online or off‑campus, and large‑group instruction classes as needed.
• Carry out all duties and responsibilities of instructors as required by Administrative Regulation 7122.

• Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of directly related professional experience, or
• Associate degree and at least six years of directly related professional experience, or
• Valid California Community College credential, or
• Equivalency to the above requirements.

All candidates must have evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students. This includes an understanding of equity‑minded practices within the classroom.

• Fundamental knowledge of electronics/electrical circuits.
• Experience with computer networking hardware, CCNA certification.
• Knowledge of NFPA/NEC, analog/digital communications.
• Experience in building automation (door access, CCTV, HVAC, lighting, etc.), biomedical equipment, PLCs, VFDs, SCADA, HMI.
• Experience in industrial instrumentation and motor controls, industrial robotics, voice & data cabling, photovoltaic systems.
• Experience working with students of diverse backgrounds.
• Strong communication skills with students and staff.
• Recent experience working with racially minoritized students, with an understanding of historical patterns of exclusion and strategies to support them.
• Willingness to examine and refine instructional, relational, and classroom practices to more effectively engage and support these students.
• Experience addressing equity issues in the classroom.
• Potential to contribute to institutional vitality and growth.
• Knowledge of the community college mission and goals.

Starting rates are $45.49–$61.78 for lecture and $38.67–$52.55 for lab. Sick leave accrual is based on assignment hours.
