Position Overview
Respiratory Care Instructor (Part‑Time Faculty Pool) – Fresno City College – part‑time faculty pool. This posting is for an ongoing continuous recruitment pool; positions will be filled as vacancies arise.
Key Responsibilities- Teach part‑time Respiratory Care courses assigned.
- Use multiple pedagogies and instructional delivery systems, including face‑to‑face, online, and hybrid formats.
- Communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
- Apply appropriate teaching methods that align with the institutionally approved curriculum and course outlines.
- Assess student progress using tests, examinations, written assignments, oral responses, etc., in accordance with course objectives.
- Develop and provide course syllabi to students.
- Maintain classroom records per district policy.
- Submit all required grading and evaluation reports promptly.
- Teach in various instructional settings and times, including additional classes as required.
- Fulfill all duties and responsibilities of instructors as required by Administrative Regulation 7122.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential and current state license.
- Minimum four years experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist, including at least two years in clinical respiratory care.
- Minimum two years experience teaching an accredited respiratory care program as faculty or clinical preceptor.
- Evidence of an equity‑minded approach to diverse students’ academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds.
- Experience integrating diversity, equity, and inclusion in all responsibilities.
- Recent experience teaching racially minoritized students and understanding historical exclusion patterns.
- Willingness to examine and improve instructional, relational, and classroom practices for racially minoritized students.
- Work and professional experience related to multicultural and cross‑cultural communication.
- Experience supporting under‑prepared and high‑need students.
- Collaboration with faculty and staff to enhance instruction, curriculum, and student success.
- Computer and technology proficiency for instructional delivery and support.
- Effective communication with students and staff.
- Knowledge of current assessment methods and materials.
- Knowledge of the community college mission and goals.
- Newly hired part‑time faculty placed on step one of the Part‑Time Faculty Salary Schedule.
- Salary classification based on education and experience as outlined in the Part‑Time Faculty Salary Classifications.
- Sick leave accrual based on assignment hours.
