Location: College City
Photography Instructor (Part-Time Faculty Pool)
Location:
Fresno City College, Fresno, CA.
- Lecture and laboratory instruction in professional photography at the community college.
- Conduct classes, lab maintenance and operation, equipment inventory, class preparation, office hours, and student evaluation and advisement.
- Maintain professional conduct and ethics and stay current in teaching professional photography.
- Perform duties in various instructional settings and times, including evenings, weekends, online or off‑campus, and large group instruction as needed.
- Fulfill other duties required by Administrative Regulation 7122.
- Bachelor’s degree and two years of directly related professional experience.
- Associate degree and six years of directly related professional experience.
- Valid California Community College credential.
- Equivalent education and/or experience (equivalency required).
- Evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
- Proficiency in traditional photographic processes, digital photography, studio lighting, photographic aesthetics and marketing.
- Proficiency with Apple Mac and Microsoft Windows operating systems using Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Experience with Photoshop and Lightroom.
- Willingness to maintain currency in professional photography and graphics.
- Effective oral and written communication and ability to establish relationships with students, faculty, staff, and administration.
- Ability to develop new and current curriculum focusing on student learning outcomes.
- Community college teaching experience.
- Recent experience working with African American, Latinx, Native American, and other racially minoritized students and understanding of historical exclusion patterns.
- Willingness to examine and remediate instructional, relational, and classroom practices to better engage racially minoritized students.
- Experience addressing equity issues in the classroom.
- Potential to contribute to institutional vitality and growth.
- Knowledge of the community college mission, goals and context.
Starting rates: $45.49 – $61.78 for lecture, $38.67 – $52.55 for lab, and $38.30 – $52.05 for non‑instructional. Sick leave accrual based on assignment hours.
