Fresno City College values equity‑mindful educators who support a culturally diverse student body. The successful candidate will serve as a part‑time faculty member in the Chinese language program, collaborating with faculty, staff, and community partners to advance student success and equity.

• Teach part‑time Chinese courses as assigned.
• Employ a variety of pedagogies and integrate technology for face‑to‑face, online, and hybrid formats.
• Communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
• Follow the institutionally approved curriculum and course outlines.
• Assess student progress through tests, examinations, written assignments, and oral responses.
• Provide course syllabi, maintain classroom records, and submit grading reports on time.
• Teach in diverse instructional settings and times as required.
• Fulfill additional duties as assigned by the department.

• Evidence of responsiveness to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, with a focus on equity‑mindful practice.
• One of the following:
• Master’s degree in Chinese.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chinese and Master’s in another language or linguistics.
• Valid California Community College Credential.
• Equivalent education or experience (equivalency required).

• Experience incorporating diversity, equity, and inclusion into all responsibilities.
• Recent work with racially minoritized student groups and understanding of historical exclusion patterns.
• Willingness to examine and improve instructional practices to support racially minoritized students.
• Professional experience in multicultural and cross‑cultural communication.
• Experience supporting underprepared and high‑need students in community college settings.
• Collaboration skills with faculty and staff to enhance instruction and student success.
• Computer literacy and familiarity with educational technology.
• Strong communication skills with students and staff.
• Knowledge of current assessment methods and materials.
• Knowledge of the community college mission and goals.

• Newly hired part‑time faculty placed on step one of the Part‑Time Faculty Salary Schedule.
• Salary classification based on education and experience as outlined in the Part‑Time Faculty Salary Classifications.
• Sick leave accrual based on assignment hours.
