C. Smith University seeks an innovative, collaborative librarian to serve as the Digital Initiatives and Resources Librarian. This position supports access to the James

B. Duke Memorial Library’s digital resources, including websites, databases, e-books, remote learning tools, and social media. The librarian will lead digital initiatives that enhance undergraduate research and career readiness through partnerships with students, faculty, staff, and campus stakeholders. Responsibilities include managing and creating metadata for Digital Smith and the OCLC library management system, promoting and securing funding for digital projects and library technology, and ensuring data protection and security.

The successful candidate will collaborate with University Archives and Circulation, contribute to information literacy and research services initiatives, and participate in campus conversations about innovative scholarship and the evolving role of libraries in higher education. Salary Range: $51,000.00 To $56,000.00 Annually

Qualifications

Qualifications include a master’s degree from an ALA-accredited library and information science program (or equivalent), experience managing digital content, websites, and data security, and a strong interest in emerging technologies and library trends. Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication, project management, and customer service skills, as well as experience with library databases, social media, outreach, and remote learning tools. Preferred qualifications include experience with metadata standards, digital repositories, OCLC and other library management systems, information literacy instruction, vendor relations, supervision and training, grant writing, budget management, and a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in academic or library settings.
