The Greenbrier School District seeks a paraprofessional to support the PreK Lead Teacher in instruction, supervision, and classroom management, promoting students’ academic, social, and emotional growth.
Essential Functions- implements instructional activities as directed by teacher or principal
- assumes responsibility for preparing for instructional duties
- supports students during whole group, small group, and individual instruction
- assists students in understanding and completing learning tasks
- encourages student participation and engagement
- implements behavior management techniques while treating all students with dignity and respect
- assists students in establishing and maintaining appropriate behavior
- prepares instructional materials and classroom resources as directed
- maintains and organizes classroom environment
- provides physical management support, including lifting students when required
- participates in a minimum of 30 hours of prescribed professional development each year
- attends training sessions, staff meetings, and meetings as directed by administration
- adheres to confidentiality policies, including those related to IDEA
- follows all district policies and procedures
- maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and regulations
- collaborates with teachers, staff, and administration
- serves on building-level committees as assigned
- demonstrates professionalism through effective communication and collaboration
- multitasks, prioritizes, and manages time efficiently
- maintains a positive, patient, and encouraging demeanor
- serves as a role model and mentor for students
- exhibits strong verbal and written communication skills
- works effectively as a team player
- demonstrates creativity and flexibility in supporting classroom activities
- utilizes basic technology skills, including Microsoft Office and Google applications
- reports to work on time and reliably
- takes necessary precautions to protect students and facilities
- assists with supervision duties such as lunchroom, recess, and bus duty
- reports incidents promptly to appropriate personnel
- responds appropriately to emergency situations and seeks assistance when needed
- demonstrates alignment with school philosophy, standards, and goals
- perform other duties as assigned by supervising teacher, principal, or district administration
- high school diploma or equivalent
- completed at least 60 hours of college credit or
- passed the Praxis Parapro Assessment or
- earned the CDA Credential
- citizenship, residency, or work visa required
