Description

The Department of Political Science at Fordham University invites applications for a tenure-track position in judicial politics beginning in the Fall of 2027 at the Rose Hill campus in the Bronx, New York. The area of specialization within judicial politics is open, but the department is interested in applicants who can teach core courses in Fordham’s judicial politics curriculum, including Introduction to the American Legal System, Constitutional Law, and Civil Rights and Liberties.

Additionally, we look for a candidate who is interested in and can offer new and exciting law and society classes for our students such as environmental justice, the legal aspects of economic, social, and/or cultural rights, artificial intelligence and technology, law and ethics, and gender equality and discrimination. A successful candidate should be willing to contribute to teaching and intellectual leadership in Fordham's pre-law program and its many interdisciplinary programs, such as American Studies, Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies (WGSS), Urban Studies, and Peace and Justice Studies.

Consistent with our Jesuit and Catholic mission, we believe that diversity is central to the excellence of our academic programs, and we strive to create an academic community and campus culture that attracts and facilitates the development of promising and diverse teacher-scholars. As our student body becomes increasingly diverse, we are especially interested in candidates with substantive experience and commitment to teaching and mentoring students of different races and ethnicities from a range of socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.

Qualifications
