Student Success Counselor

As a Student Success Coach and Mentor with City Year in the Education, Training & E-Learning department, you'll serve full-time in a partner public school to support students' academic and social-emotional growth. You'll provide tutoring, mentoring, and classroom support; track progress; and collaborate with teachers and teammates to create an inclusive, encouraging learning environment. At City Year, you'll join a diverse, mission-driven community focused on social justice, leadership development, and personal growth while receiving training, coaching, and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily in-class and after-school academic support to students
• Coach and mentor a caseload of students to build skills, confidence, and attendance
• Collaborate with teachers to align tutoring, interventions, and classroom support
• Track and report student progress using school and City Year tools
• Lead or support small groups, enrichment activities, and social-emotional learning
• Communicate regularly with school staff and families as appropriate
• Model inclusive, culturally responsive practices and support a positive school climate
• Participate in ongoing training, reflection, and leadership development with your team
