Position Overview:

Under the general supervision of the classroom teacher, the applicant will facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district approved curriculum; document teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; address specific educational needs of individual students and create a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment; and provide feedback to students, parents, and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Aids medically fragile children under supervision, including tasks such as tube feeding, toileting, and diapering, to ensure necessary care for assigned students.
  • Collaborates with teachers to support student evaluations and implement individualized objectives.
  • Assists in executing plans, under teacher direction, to develop students’ social and daily living skills.
  • Implements instructional programs under teacher supervision, following lesson plans to enhance students’ academic success.
  • Supervises students in various settings, including the classroom, library, and playground, to maintain a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Performs clerical and record-keeping duties, such as scheduling and copying, to support teachers and administrators.
  • Assists with data collection to document student progress and provide reliable information.
  • Maintains consistent attendance and punctuality to support the achievement of work unit goals.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the work unit.
