Gsrp Coverage Aide And Aftercare

• The intent of these GSRP Relief positions is to provide break or preparation time for GSRP LEAD Teachers and/or Associate Teachers.
• These positons are funded by the GSRP Grant.
• These positons may require mid-day travel.
• GSRP After-Care (to 5:45 p .m.) is a part of this position.

• High School Diploma
• Aspartnersintheinstructionalprocess,paraprofessionals whoworkinprogramssupportedwithGSRP and/or Title I funding sourcesmustmeetoneofthefollowingrequirements:
  • Completeatleasttwoyearsofstudyataninstitutionofhighereducation(equalto
    60semesterhours); or have an associate'sdegree(orhigher);
  • or
  • Meetarigorousstandardofqualityanddemonstrate,throughaformalstateorlocalacademicassessment.(Example:Work Keys Test ,MTTC,ETSParaproAssessment,etc.)
• Experienceworkinginasettingdealingdirectlywithyoungchildren.
• Demonstratedabilitytorelatewithchildren
• Goodinterpersonalandcommunicationskills.
• Competencyinoralandwrittencommunications. Proficiencyinwrittencommunicationsmustbedemonstrated.

• Post secondary course work with concentration in child development or related area
• Completion of First Aid, CPR, Behavior Management and Physical Intervention Skills
• Ability to work with students having special needs and/or aggressive behaviors.
• Demonstrate an understanding, patient and receptive attitude toward students over varied age groups and varied disabilities.

• Supports students throughout the school day including during recess and lunch.
• Provideasafeandnurturingenvironmentforchildreninordertomeettheirphysical,emotional,socialandintellectualneeds.
• Assistinimplementingthedailyprogram of the building
• Encouragefamilyinvolvementbymakingparentsfeelcomfortableandwelcomeintheclassroom
• Organizematerialsasneededforclassroomprojects.
• Participateinprofessional developmentasdirectedbytheprincipal.
• SuperviseGSP students and otherstudentsduringthelunchperiod.
• Interact,initiateandencouragestudentstoparticipateinactivities.
• Otherdutiesasassignedby principal.

This position starts at $12.18 per hour. A full and a part time positon is available, and the daily hours would be approximately between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., for 7.0 hours per day. The part time positon would be hours per day.
