Solar Technician

As a Solar Technician, you will be responsible for assisting in operating and maintaining the energy site.

About the Site

The Chalk Bluff Solar Energy Center site is a 450 MW‑AC power generation facility located at 6198 HWY 357 S, HETH, AR 72346. The site consists of GE Flex inverter 1566 inverters, NEXTracker NX Horizon 4 trackers, Jinko Eagle JKM
585N-72HL4-BDV, JKM
590N-72HL4-BDV, JKM
595N-72HL4-BDV Shoals BLA and LBD modules, and a connected substation.

Position Overview

You will assist in operating and maintaining the solar site and its associated equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on all site solar, substation, and associated equipment.
  • Perform vegetation management, including operating large equipment to maintain the site per the vegetation management plan.
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic problems including inverter faults, tracker faults, network communications, ground faults, collection issues, substation issues, and general site performance issues.
  • Understand electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic functions of all components of the solar site and associated equipment.
  • Conduct site maintenance daily, wearing all required safety equipment, to inspect, maintain, and repair equipment.
  • Work a schedule of 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM Monday‑Friday (40 hours) and will be subject to scheduled and unscheduled overtime and potential night work. The schedule may vary during peak maintenance periods.
  • Maintain company tooling, facilities, and equipment and a clean, safe work environment.
Required Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year of technical experience (electrical, etc.) and/or technical education.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
  • Willingness to work nights during scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities.
  • Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather.
  • Ability to climb and work safely from a portable step ladder.
  • Ability to understand directions, follow procedures, and complete tasks with minimal oversight.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to move and manipulate up to 45 kg (100 pounds).
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Education and/or Work Experience
  • Experience with PV maintenance, including DC systems, AC medium‑voltage systems, and network communications and monitoring.
  • Experience in an industrial environment dealing with machine repair and maintenance (manufacturing, automotive, food processing, automation, facilities) as a maintainer, electrician, electronic technician, field engineer, or service technician.
  • Experience with operation of various SCADA systems.
  • Skill in using testing equipment and tools such as thermographic electrical inspection, I‑V curve tracing, meggers, and ground fault detection.
  • Strong analytical and diagnostic capabilities to troubleshoot and correct problems found.
  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and standard practices.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical single‑line and three‑line diagrams/schematics.
  • Proficiency with the MS Office suite.

Base Pay

$29.49 – $49.97 USD per hour

Bonus: 0% – 15%

The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers factors such as scope, responsibilities, and candidate experience, education, and skills when determining offers.
