Position Summary
The mechanic facilitates the installation, operations, and mechanical maintenance of company facilities for natural gas compression and dehydration equipment.
Pay Range$28.75 - $43.17 per hour
Reporting RelationshipGas Operations Supervisor
LocationOzark, Arkansas
Essential Functions- Install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain structural, mechanical and electrical equipment such as natural gas compressors, engines, pumps, dehydration units, as well as associated auxiliary equipment like generators and air compressors.
- Overhaul natural gas compressors, engines, motors and auxiliary equipment.
- Perform engine/compressor performance analysis.
- Interpret lubricating oil, coolant and other operating reports.
- Perform pre‑flight testing for state and federal air emissions testing of natural gas compression units.
- Responsible for general upkeep and maintenance of all facilities and equipment.
- Complete appropriate documentation and paperwork timely and accurately.
- Perform all work in compliance with company standards, procedures, regulatory and tariff requirements.
- Inspect third‑party construction activities.
- Maintain a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public.
- Achieve and maintain all operator qualifications applicable to the job classification.
- Other duties as required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of applicable experience performing mechanic work.
- Detailed knowledge of mechanical equipment, internal combustion engines, pumps, compressors, and related equipment.
- Experience reading and interpreting piping and instrument drawings.
- Knowledge and experience in safe handling practices of flammable gases, liquids and high‑pressure systems.
- Basic computer skills (knowledge of MS Office, operating systems, company software).
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals).
- Maintain regular, dependable attendance and a consistently high level of performance.
- Ability to work from written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work with a team, take direction from supervisors, keep required job schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
