Job SummaryWe are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Solid Rocket Motor Engineering Team. The role requires experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer for solid rocket motors, including mechanical design integration, mass properties, and system integration of sub-assemblies. Responsibilities include creating CAD models, engineering drawings, and specifications for critical hardware such as motor cases, nozzles, insulation systems, joints, and structural interfaces.
The position can be remote or located in Huntsville, AL or Hampton, AR.

- Apply engineering techniques to design, install, modify, analyze, repair and test tools, engines, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
- Cooperate with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
- Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data.
- Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
- Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and make recommendations to maintenance crew.
- Collaborate closely with structural, thermal, and propulsion analysts to ensure designs meet performance, safety, and manufacturing requirements.
- Support full product lifecycle—from concept design and configuration development to manufacturing, assembly, and static fire test activities.
- Maintain configuration control, resolve design issues, and provide technical support to manufacturing and test operations.
- Education and Experience: Associate's Degree and 5-7 years of experience.
- Discipline/Major: Engineering degree required.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Oral and written communication, deadline adherence, interpersonal skills, problem solving, analytical thinking, applied mechanics, design engineering, design optimization, design review, mechanical engineering, prototyping, requirements engineering/analysis.
- Software: CAD software, computer-aided engineering (CAE) software.
- Remain in a stationary position at a desk or computer for extended periods.

- Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal hazards.

Pay Range (USD)$100,300 - $135,700
Additional CompensationEligible for the Company’s Gain Sharing Program.
