Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Mechanical Engineer
Job Summary
Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems (e.g., mechanical, electrical). Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve availability, capability and yield. Performs equipment failure analyses (including preventive and unscheduled maintenance). Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment problems. Prepares technical reports to document equipment modifications and equipment maintenance procedures.

- Continues to build knowledge of the company, processes and customers
- Performs a range of assignments related to job discipline
- Uses prescribed guidelines or policies in analyzing situations
- Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction
- Consistent exercise of discretion & judgement
- Devises plans and programs for routine preventative maintenance and scheduled turnaround events at a plant or production facility.
- Accurately defines and estimates required work requests and maintains a consistent tracking system for work orders.
- Develops inspection and survey procedures to ensure an effective preventative maintenance system.
- Works closely with technicians, engineers, operations, and managers to establish a schedule of proactive maintenance activities during appropriate downtime.
- Utilizes planning and scheduling methods to ensure the most effective and least disruptive maintenance possible.
- Typically uses a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking and planning maintenance.
- Monitors spare parts inventory to ensure availability of required parts.
- Required education:
Associate's Degree and 2-4 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education & Experience - Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Business Administration / Supply Chain Management - Knowledge, skills & abilities:
Oral and written communication skills. Ability to understand and follow directions. Manual dexterity. Ability to lift/move heavy objects. Physical stamina.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
- Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
- Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
- This position is Safety-Sensitive.
No or very little travel likely.
