Lead Power Systems Consultant (m/f/d) - Contract Role

To support our strategic growth in the German energy market, we are seeking a commercially minded and technically strong Lead Power Systems Consultant (m/f/d) in Frankfurt or Berlin with a proven track record in winning and delivering projects within the German electricity sector.
This is a senior, client-facing position with significant responsibility for business development, market expansion, and client relationship management. The successful candidate will play a key role in establishing and expanding our presence in Germany, particularly with Transmission System Operators (TSOs/ÜNBs), Distribution System Operators (DSOs/VNBs), project developers, and large industrial customers.
In addition to leading the delivery of power systems studies, you will be responsible for identifying opportunities, securing new work, and building long-term strategic partnerships in the German market.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Proactively identifying, developing and securing new business opportunities within the German power sector.
- Leveraging and further developing strong relationships with German TSOs and DSOs.
- Leading proposal preparation, commercial negotiations, and contract discussions.
- Representing the company in client meetings, industry forums, and technical working groups.
- Leading high-quality power system studies (e.g. load flow, short-circuit, dynamic and transient stability, harmonic and grid compliance studies).
- Providing strategic advisory support to clients on network integration challenges, renewable integration, power electronics, and system stability topics.
- Building, mentoring and leading power systems consultants across the Consulting teams.
- Contributing to the long-term growth strategy of the German business.
The successful candidate will combine technical expertise with strong commercial acumen and an established professional network in the German electricity sector.
Required qualifications and experience:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in the German electricity networks industry.
- Demonstrated success in winning and delivering technical consulting or engineering projects.
- Established relationships with German TSOs (ÜNBs) and/or DSOs (VNBs).
- Master's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong background in power system modelling and analysis (load flow, fault level, dynamic studies, harmonics, grid code compliance, etc.).
- Proficiency in industry-standard tools such as DIgSILENT Power Factory, PSCAD or equivalent.
- Experience with grid connection processes and German regulatory frameworks (e.g. EnWG, VDE/FNN standards, FGW guidelines).
- Proven project and commercial management experience.
- Strong negotiation, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to drive market growth and position the company strategically.
- Excellent written and spoken German and English.
- A valid work permit for Germany is required.
Desirable additional expertise:
- Experience with HVDC systems, power electronics modelling, or system stability assessments.
