The Security and Environmental Management (SUM) department is the professional and reliable partner at the Hamburg site in all questions of occupational safety and environmental protection. We advise and support managers and employees with the aim of jointly recognizing and avoiding safety risks and environmental hazards at an early stage. Exemplary behavior, legal compliance, cost orientation, innovations, and digitalization in occupational and environmental safety are the topics that are important to us in our daily work.
These challenges come to you:
- Interpreting and implementing legal and operational requirements, shaping the AS and UWS organization in accordance with legal requirements
- Conducting risk assessments, creating procedures/operating instructions
- Processing complex safety and environmental relevant disturbances/accidents
- Cooperation with planning or specialist departments/suppliers and authorities when designing/planning/operating plants, buildings, facilities. Ensuring the legally compliant planning and execution. Coordinating deviations with authorities
- Creating comprehensive safety concepts, establishing and adapting minimum requirements for safety measures
- Safety technical inspections and acceptance of buildings, plants, complex production systems, and facilities before commissioning
- Coordinating the hazardous substance management and release processes
- Developing, information, and qualification measures and implementing them on the topics of occupational safety and environmental protection
- Evaluating the effectiveness of measures carried out and optimizing if necessary
- Developing, monitoring, and regularly communicating key figures
- Incorporating tasks and responsibilities into the management systems EMAS and ISO 45001
- Creating audit concepts (e.g., checklists, question catalogs), conducting AS and UWS audits
- Further developing and introducing methods, procedures, and systems, participating in cross-site working groups (CoE)
- Developing the safety culture at the site
- Leading projects in your own area of responsibility
You ideally qualify for this job with:
- Completed studies in the field of industrial engineering/mechanical engineering, safety engineering, production planning, environmental engineering, chemistry, or natural sciences
- Several years of experience as a safety engineer or production planner/maintainer/plant engineer/developer
- Experience in the safety technical acceptance of complex production facilities is desirable
- Experience in hazardous substance management is desirable
- Knowledge in environmental protection is desirable
- Knowledge of management systems, experience as an auditor
- Completed training as a safety specialist (Sifa) or willingness to complete this training
- Confident appearance at the management level/plant management
- Proficient analytical skills and self-directed goal-oriented action
- Good rhetoric, enthusiasm, and assertiveness
- Flexibility, agility & mobility
- Secure application of common software products. Willingness and ability to work in teams and self-initiative
- Good English skills in speech and writing
