Compliance Engineer I
Compliance Engineer I support regulatory and standards compliance activities for the design, production, and/or distribution of products or services. This role works under close supervision and assists with testing, documentation, audits, and product evaluations to ensure compliance with applicable national and international standards and regulations.
Essential Job Functions- Assist in the review of product designs for compliance with relevant industry standards (A2LA, 17025 Certification, ASME, ANSI, UL, IAPMO, CSA, NSF, ASSE, ISO, FCC, etc.).
- Support compliance testing and inspections by internal teams or external agencies.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of compliance efforts, including technical files and test reports.
- Help coordinate third‑party audits or product certifications.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to address compliance issues and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor regulatory changes and assist in updating internal compliance procedures.
- Assist in risk assessments, root cause analysis, and mitigation plans.
- Contribute to training and awareness activities regarding compliance requirements and best practices.
- Conduct routine inspections, audits, and tests to verify compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
- Maintain accurate records, logs, and compliance documentation.
- Assist in preparing reports for regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders.
- Support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) by investigating compliance issues and tracking resolutions.
- Help coordinate third‑party inspections or audits and prepare the required documentation.
- Monitor regulatory databases and assist in updating procedures and documentation to reflect regulatory changes.
- Provide support during incident investigations and risk assessments.
- Assist with employee training in compliance‑related procedures and safety practices.
- Ensure proper labeling, handling, and disposal of materials according to regulations.
- Schedule preventative maintenance on plumbing systems and equipment.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are calibrated per 17025 Standard procedures.
- Basic understanding of regulatory frameworks and standards applicable to the industry (e.g., medical devices, consumer electronics, automotive).
- Familiarity with test equipment and procedures is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic documentation tools.
- Experience with AutoCAD Inventor and Vault.
- Experience with Minitab.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience with Microsoft D365.
- BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
- 0–3 years of relevant engineering experience.
