Environmental Compliance
Job Summary
Under long‑range administrative direction, this role coordinates the implementation of environmental compliance programs, permit requirements, corporate environmental policies, standards, procedures, and strategic environmental goals across the assigned region, plant, and project scope. The Coordinator provides training, guidance, and support to business unit leadership and staff on applicable environmental requirements, identifies necessary compliance activities, and collaborates with staff, Environmental Services representatives, contractors, and external parties to ensure ongoing compliance.

- Transportation of hazardous materials
- Solid and hazardous waste management
- Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasures
- Water sampling, reporting and control (wastewater, stormwater, groundwater, drinking water)
- Oil and chemical spill response and management
- Air emissions monitoring, control and reporting
- Asbestos and PCB management
- Pollution prevention
- Environmental site assessments
- Emergency planning and community right‑to‑know
- Coordinate and implement all environmental activities and policies in assigned region(s) to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Assist Environmental Services in developing company environmental policies and procedures; communicate deviations appropriately.
- Provide training and instruction on environmental requirements and develop training materials.
- Support release or discharge incidents: notify agencies, arrange contractors, direct cleanup, and complete follow‑up reports.
- Promote and enforce safe work practices.
- Support environmental compliance reviews, Phase I/II site assessments, and remediation projects.
- Respond to public inquiries and communicate compliance issues internally.
- Develop and maintain environmental documents and records in accordance with management standards.
- Review regional disposal contractors and manage associated contracts.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in environmental science or a related discipline.
- Minimum eight years of environmental experience with an associate degree (or six years with a bachelor’s).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Proficient with the programs listed above.
- Travel: 20–40% of the time, including occasional overnight stays.
- Availability by phone after work hours and weekends as needed.
