A day in the life — Monette, AR
You kick off the morning scanning ERP dashboards and production metrics. A spike in scrap triggers a structured root cause analysis; by noon, you’ve validated corrective actions and aligned cross-functional partners on the path forward. The afternoon shifts to design-for-manufacturability reviews—translating product concepts into robust, repeatable molding processes. You close the day by mentoring junior engineers on best practices and exploring a promising new molding technology to pilot next quarter.
Whatyou'll own
- Designing, developing, and tuning injection molding processes to drive efficiency, quality, and cost improvement.
- Leading rigorous root cause investigations and implementing durable corrective and preventive actions.
- Partnering with design, quality, and operations to ensure parts are manufacturable and meet all specifications.
- Driving projects for process improvements, equipment upgrades, and the introduction of new molding technologies.
- Coaching and upskilling junior engineers and production teams on technical standards and methods.
- Monitoring KPIs and deploying strategies to lift throughput, yield, and first-pass quality.
- Staying on top of industry advances in materials, tooling, and molding equipment.
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline.
- 5+ years in manufacturing engineering with a deep focus on injection molding.
- Expert knowledge of molding processes, materials, tooling, and press/auxiliary equipment.
- Proficiency with CAD and related engineering tools.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with a proactive, hands-on mindset.
- Clear, collaborative communication skills and effectiveness in cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma; formal certification is a plus.
