Senior Director, Financial Planning & Analysis Compensation

Annual base salary range: $ - $. Additional performance-based cash incentive awards may be awarded.

• Synthesize reports into impactful exhibits, insightful results, and actionable recommendations to influence business partners and senior management, ensuring quality control and accuracy.
• Review team members’ reports and provide guidance on accuracy and presentation.
• Design, prepare, evaluate, and validate advanced financial and operational reports to support tactical and strategic business objectives.
• Identify gaps and limitations in data sets, explain and recommend potential alternatives.
• Oversee, synthesize, and present exhibits, results, observations, and recommendations to business partners and senior management, including formal presentations.
• Engage with business partners to translate complex analyses to influence business strategy.
• Review competitor press releases, SEC filings, and industry trade press for insights, linking themes and identifying applicability to departmental strategies.
• Design and lead projects that analyze and implement complex business and financial regulatory changes relating to financial reporting, such as mergers and acquisitions.
• Provide coaching, training, and mentoring, and if managing people, lead performance management and development.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or pursuing a Master’s in Business Administration with concentration in finance or accounting.
• Professional designations such as CPA, CMA or comparable advanced professional education preferred.
• Seven years of finance, financial planning, accounting or related experience.
• Extensive experience with Financial Analysis concepts, principles, processes, and accounting practices, preferably with exposure to the P&C insurance industry.
• Excellent communication skills to present, influence and negotiate at multiple levels.
• Advanced leadership skills to mentor, coach, and develop team members and align resources to key objectives.
• Exceptional data analysis skills to interpret trends and report insights and recommendations.
• Advanced organization skills to manage multiple priorities and follow through.
• Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Financial Reporting Software (TM1, Essbase, Hyperion, etc.).
• Deep understanding of Travelers’ business strategy and plan objectives to align with enterprise goals.
