The RoleThis is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist Recoveries team focused exclusively on managing aged debt within an Asset Finance portfolio.
The successful candidate will take ownership of customers with arrears exceeding 90 days, working proactively to understand each customer's circumstances, negotiate appropriate repayment strategies and minimise financial losses. This role requires strong collections expertise, sound commercial judgement and the ability to manage complex customer situations while delivering fair customer outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a portfolio of customers with arrears exceeding 90 days
- Assess customers' financial positions and negotiate sustainable repayment solutions
- Prepare cases for asset recovery, litigation or remarketing where appropriate
- Review contractual documentation to support recovery strategies
- Work closely with Asset Management to obtain asset valuations
- Recommend bad debt provisions and write‑off proposals where appropriate
- Identify and support vulnerable customers in line with regulatory requirements
- Maintain accurate records and case documentation
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to minimise losses and maximise recoveries
- Support wider Recoveries team activities as required
- Minimum 2–3 years' experience managing accounts with arrears exceeding 90 days
- Asset Finance or Motor Finance collections experience highly desirable
- Strong understanding of collections and recoveries processes
- Commercially aware with the ability to assess customer affordability and loss positions
- Knowledge of Hire Purchase and Lease agreements advantageous
- Excellent negotiation, communication and decision‑making skills
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to the wider team
We strongly favour applicants with proven, relevant experience in Financial Services; particularly Asset Finance and Leasing.
