Surgical Technologist Senior

Job Summary

Full‑time day position at Wentworth‑Douglass Hospital in Dover, NH: 4 ten‑hour shifts with minimal call and higher pay rates. Supports operating room setup, instrument passing, and patient positioning during surgical procedures.

• Participates in time‑out procedures.
• Obtains extra supplies and equipment as needed.
• Sets up operating room equipment independently.
• Participates as an active member of the Patient Care Team.
• Monitors and continually assesses operating room conditions, including patient and surgical team needs.
• Prepares patients for surgery, including positioning and covering with sterile drapes.
• Maintains knowledge of SPD Sterile Room and sterilization procedures.

Education & Credentials:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required; no substitution for a degree.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) preferred.
• NH Medical Tech license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Experience:

• 2–3 years as a surgical technologist in an acute care setting required.
• 4 years of committee and leadership experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Knowledge of SPD Sterile Room.
• Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced clinical environment.
• Advanced knowledge of sterile processing procedures and policies.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items.
