Job Summary:
This position handles incoming calls, coordinates appointments, referrals, schedules tests and/or procedures, and manages assigned departmental work in a call center environment. Exhibits the ability to multitask, perform, and execute solutions to complex situations to assure the functioning of the call center and its mission to promote quality patient care and assure excellent service to referral providers.
Essential Functions:
Answer telephones; directing calls or taking messages
Manage multiple templates and gather all information necessary to accurately record the appointments for all clinics. Cancel and change appointments as necessary.
Identifies, researches, and resolves patient issues, and troubleshoots complaints.
Call patients daily to confirm next-day appointments.
Review the No Call/Cancel list and reschedule as needed and schedule appointments as patients call after receiving a recall letter.
Maintains current knowledge of practice, clinic procedures, appointment types, and supportive measures for patients.
Check daily schedules to be sure correct templates are being used and appointments are being filled appropriately.
As assigned, write and/or send correspondence as requested such as recall letters, new patient letters, and packets.
Answer patient calls regarding surgery appointments and schedule as necessary.
Assist in the development of and help work toward departmental goals as a team.
Open and close the patient help desk as assigned. Turning the telephones over to the answering service at close or recalling from the answering service upon opening.

Education
Required:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience/
Skills Required:
Ability to work in a professional, positive, and pleasant way with others ing ability of 35 wpm.
Maintain a professional manner in stressful situations
Strong verbal communication skills in order to converse clearly and professionally with patients and staff
Expected to function at an intermediate level for two assigned functions (Check-in, check-out, surgery counselor, surgery check-in) within one year Desired:
Call Center experience
Experience in a healthcare office
