The Direct Support Professional works on an interdisciplinary team that delivers superior quality of service and provides appropriate activities in a safe and healthy environment within the home and community setting.

• Assists clients with basic living skills and daily personal tasks, including showers, dressing, housekeeping, grocery shopping, meal preparation and planning, and financial budgeting.
• Provides transportation to and from activities and appointments as needed; a valid Arkansas Driver's License is required.
• Maintains clear communication via facility logbook, staff meetings, and other appropriate means regarding clients' needs and progress toward their plan of care by the end of each shift.
• Accurately completes all documentation required by FCC, such as Behavioral Reports, Incident Reports, Compliance Forms, Personal Care Work Sheets, Requisition s, Maintenance Forms, Progress Reports, Monthly Attendance Logs, and other required documentation.
• Follows and completes necessary documentation for FTA vehicles and maintains all mileage/billing forms in compliance with Medicaid guidelines.
• Reports incidents and emergencies to supervisors or delegated authorities immediately.
• Assists in the formulation, management, revision and follow‑through of the client’s Plan of Care, ensuring treatment is carried out and safety is prioritized.
• Follows proper medication management guidelines and assists with monitoring and documentation of medication procedures.
• Organizes and carries out recreational activities for clients.
• Demonstrates good role modeling through appropriate physical appearance, adherence to FCC dress code, and respectful actions.
• Treats clients and their families with dignity and respect, reflecting FCC’s mission.
• Assists in maintaining FCC facilities, grounds, and vehicles, ensuring cleanliness and regular preventive maintenance.
• Attends necessary training and continues education.
• Provides proof of liability insurance and maintains it current; may be required to undergo periodic driving tests and demonstrate proficiency with motor vehicles, including passenger vans.

• Education/
  
  Experience:
  
  High school diploma or GED; or at least two years of experience working with developmentally disabled individuals. Must possess a valid driver’s license.

  Skills:
  
  Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions, memos, and correspondence. Ability to present information effectively in one‑on‑one and small group settings.
• Mathematical/Computer

  Ability to perform basic arithmetic and interpret bar graphs.
• Reasoning Ability:
  Apply common sense to follow written, oral, or diagrammed instructions and interpret diverse formats.
• Physical Demands:
  Frequent use of hands, standing, walking, reaching, sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and occasional lifting/moving of up to 100pounds. Must have close, color, depth vision and ability to adjust focus.
