SUMMARYTimely and accurately performs routine testing on laboratory instruments and testing authorized by the Supervisor. Responsible for management of patient specimens throughout the pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic phases of testing once the specimen arrives in the testing laboratory. Performs test as outlined in the laboratory’s standard operating procedures. Departments which apply are:
Clinical Chemistry, Clinical Microbiology, Hematology, Histology, Molecular Pathology, and Immunohematology. The Laboratory Assistant is responsible to and will receive work assignments from laboratory technologists and/ or Laboratory Specialist.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to follow instructions accurately and precisely
Strong attention to detail
Safety Sensitive DesignationThis position is deemed safety sensitive in accordance with Arkansas Act 593 governing Medical Marijuana.

Must have the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, to solve problems and make decisions. Spend 8 hours or more in front of computer, monitor or similar screen utilizing keyboard and/or mouse, daily. Ability to stand and walk, occasionally bend, squat and twist, and occasionally lift up to 10 pounds using proper body mechanics. Must have a keen sense of hearing and visual acuity with or without correction.
Must be able to handle critical and highly stressful situations with efficiency and composure.
