Laundry Attendant

We are currently seeking a talented individual to become a Laundry Attendant. An individual could be successful if they possess the following.

The laundry attendant maintains a constant supply of clean linens for the hotel. Performs all stages of linen processing including: collecting, transporting, sorting, loading and unloading (washers, dryers and chutes), ironing and storing. Maintains the laundry area and machine's cleanliness. The laundry attendant takes pride in focusing on the details behind the scenes and setting the stage for the guest's comfort by providing clean linens to our room attendants, ensuring a spotlessly clean environment and helping create a positive memorable experience for every guest.

Always presents a friendly and professional image at the Hotel/Casino. The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

• Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs.
• Maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.
• Provides impeccable guest service to all guests
• Cooperates and communicates with all team members and the hotel guests with respect, projecting a positive attitude.
• Receive and sort soiled linen and terry.
• Loads and unloads washers and dryers.
• Irons linen, folds towels and other linens in the appropriate location.
• Follows the job-training program for daily work projects.
• Clean lint filters in dryers daily.
• Keeps laundry carts clean and free of debris.
• Reports maintenance and hazard issues to the housekeeping supervisors or manager.
• Maintains the laundry area and machines cleanliness by department standard operating
• Assists other team members and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department and hotel.
• Follows established procedures and policies of the Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous laundry experience preferred.
• Must be able to perform the physical job duties of all Laundry team members.
• Must have the ability to interact with guests, staff and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.

This job does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in in English may also be required.

Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.
