SPECIAL AGENT- PUBLIC/ELECTION INTEGRITY UNITS- SPECIAL INVESTIGATIONS DIVISION
The Office of Attorney General Tim Griffin is seeking to hire a qualified applicant to serve as a Special Agent in the Special Investigations Division.
The Special Investigations Division (SID) protects the citizens of Arkansas by investigating various crimes including but not limited to: internet crimes against children, human trafficking, cybercrimes, public integrity, election integrity, cold case homicides and missing persons, and organized retail crime. Special Agents in SID investigate crimes, arrest suspects, and submit files for prosecution. Special Agents will report to the Deputy Chief of SID.
The incumbent is responsible for investigating criminal offenses by interviewing victims, witnesses, and suspects; identifying, collecting, and preserving evidence; and processing crime scenes in a manner that meets legal and evidentiary standards.
As part of enforcement duties, the position requires the lawful detention and arrest of offenders, using appropriate levels of force when necessary. The incumbent must carry a firearm and successfully complete mandatory firearms qualifications.
The incumbent works closely with prosecuting attorneys, assisting throughout the charging and trial process and providing clear, credible courtroom testimony regarding investigative actions and outcomes.
Beyond direct enforcement and investigation, the position emphasizes collaboration and leadership. The incumbent maintains a professional, constructive working relationship with supervisors, fellow employees, other county staff, elected officials, and the public.
The position operates with minimal supervision and requires a high degree of independent judgment, initiative, and discretion. The incumbent is entrusted with access to sensitive and confidential information as a condition of employment and is responsible for safeguarding that information, ensuring its security and privacy.
