Water Damage Technician

This position provides operational support in mitigation efforts for clients. Qualified candidates must be able to pump and extract water, perform mold remediation, and use specialized equipment under supervision. This position represents level 2 in the progressive itinerary of Water Damage.

• Receive instructions from the team leader.
• Know and understand MSDS protocols for chemical products used during mitigation.
• Perform daily inspections of vehicle safety and maintenance; keep vehicles clean and in good condition.
• Demonstrate attention to detail.
• Demonstrate mastery of BELFOR's Book of Damage Caused by the Water (as applicable).
• Under supervision, demonstrate proper use of scraper and rinse rod, weighed trawl, weighed extractor, water extractor, portable extraction unit, and applicable discharge and drainage systems.
• Under supervision, build adequate containment systems using appropriate calculations and equipment (Neg Air, HEPA vacuum).
• Properly use cleaning/disinfecting solutions and debris removal techniques in confined areas.
• Use appropriate lifting techniques, sliding pads, and protective measures for client belongings.
• Remove vapor barriers, label recoverable cuttings, create air holes, install Injectidry/Directed-In/Octi-Dry systems, and use meters.
• Comply with BELFOR standards to safeguard client property.
• Maintain strong customer service knowledge and apply its principles.
• Work effectively under time constraints to meet deadlines.
• Occasionally travel and work at night and on weekends.
• Provide timely and accurate documentation of time worked and equipment/consumables used.
• Attend BELFOR operations and required security training.

• Identify products (consumables), usage and disposal requirements with training
• Knowledge of various pump systems
• Eligible to operate a motor vehicle per BELFOR's vehicle policy
• Sense of urgency, professional demeanor, positive attitude, and strong work ethic
• English language literacy and fluency

• Frequent lifting in excess of 50 lbs
• Occasional lifting from 41 lbs+, assisted (up to 50% of the time)
• Access and mobility in tight spaces
• Sustained periods of standing, sitting, walking, bending, and kneeling
• Ability to use mobile devices for data collection and time
