As Head of Operations Germany, you will take overall responsibility for the operational management and development of the business segments "Track Supply" in Germany. In this role, you will lead the segment managers and ensure that strategic objectives are efficiently, consistently, and sustainably implemented in concrete operational measures. In this key role, you will work closely with the country management and the heads of the business fields to ensure that strategic objectives are effectively anchored in the day-to-day operations.
You will keep an eye on both the performance capability of the organization and the continuous optimization of processes, structures, and results.
Your responsibilities include:
- Overall responsibility for the implementation, cost control, and result contribution of the operational segments of the business field Track Supply in Germany
- The business field "Track Supply" includes the welding workshops in Germany, the logistics for the supply and disposal of track construction sites with rails and switches, as well as the mobile long rail service
- Leadership and development of segment managers and building a performance-oriented leadership culture within operations
- Ensuring a uniform implementation of standards, KPIs, and benchmarks including monitoring and reporting of operational performance
- Translating strategic goals into concrete operational measures and sustainable anchoring in the production and service units
- Initiating and leading cross-departmental projects, particularly in the areas of digitalization, automation, and process optimization
- Ensuring efficient operations, optimal site availability, and compliance with quality, safety, and compliance standards
- Establishing operations as a "center of excellence" and sharing best practices with comparable units in other countries
Your profile includes:
- Successfully completed university degree, e.g. in engineering, production, industrial engineering, or business administration
- Several years of leadership and management experience, preferably with result or P&L responsibility
- Proven success in leading complex organizations, preferably in a matrix structure
- In-depth understanding of production processes, cost management, quality assurance, and operational control
- Experience in implementing transformation, digitalization, or automation initiatives
- Strong leadership qualities and the ability to develop leaders and align organizations performance-oriented
- Strategic thinking combined with a strong hands-on mentality
- Strong communication and interface skills between management, business functions, and operational units
- Very good English skills in speech and writing (at least B2)
- Experience in the rail infrastructure or industrial services sector is advantageous
