The Central Arkansas Library System (CALS) is seeking a dynamic and service-driven
Branch Managerto lead the Max Milam Library,locatedat
609 Aplin Ave., Perryville, AR 72126.
The Branch Manager oversees all aspects of daily library operations and provides leadership that fosters excellent customer service, staff development, and strong community engagement. This role is ideal for a motivated professional who is passionate about public library service and connecting with a diverse community.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and oversee daily branch operations
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate staff
- Develop staff schedules and ensure effective coverage
- Handle cash management and reporting
- Foster a welcoming, inclusive environment for patrons of all ages
- Build andmaintainstrong relationships within the local community
- Lead projects and initiatives that enhance library services
- Strong customer service orientation and enthusiasm for public service
- Demonstrated leadership, supervisory, and project management skills
- Knowledge of library technologies and electronic information services
- Commitment to innovation and progressive library practices
- Ability to engage effectively with a diverse population
- Master’s degree in Library Science(MLS) from an ALA-accredited program, progress toward an MLS,or
a bachelor’s degree with at least three years of relevant experience and/or training - Previous supervisory or management experience
- Includes evenings and weekends
- Salary starting at $47,881 annually(negotiable based on qualifications)
