Position: CONTROL ROOM OPERATOR
Location: White Hall

Description

  • Operate plant functions from the control room under the direction of the control room lead operator.
  • Manage chip feed, fuel feed, furnace, dryer and secondary sizing.
  • Manage and monitor various levels and feed rates as instructed by the control room lead operator.
  • Monitor spark detection system.
  • Multi-task with equipment alarms.
  • Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation.
  • Ensure all work is performed in a timely and safe manner.
  • Utilize skills to improve equipment optimization and reliability.
  • Maintain logs, record labor, material and equipment used.
  • Meticulous attention to detail; able to follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • Perform other related duties and serve as back-up resource as assigned.
  • Submits reports in accordance with reporting directives.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or equivalent education; trade school or college preferred.
  • One year of in plant manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to work independently and utilize critical problem solving and decision-making skills to generate and implement solutions throughout the process.
  • Must have proficient computer skills.
  • Knowledge or ability to learn how to operate HMI touchscreens.
  • Must possess basic math skills.
  • Must maintain compliance within all LOTO, confined space, hot work, working at heights policies.
  • OSHA 10 training and experience.
  • Ability to work extended hours to includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to continuously walk or stand, bend, squat, climb stairs and lift items above shoulders.
  • Ability to work outdoors, rotating shifts, and lift 50 pounds required.
