Boat Cover Sewer

Position Summary

The Sewer position creates boat and seat covers using industrial sewing machines for fiberglass and aluminum boat production using specified patterns.

• Sews boat and seat covers for production line.
• Sews boat and seat covers for After-Market Parts.
• Prepares and inspects materials.
• ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

• Minimum Degree
  
  Required:
  
  High School Diploma or Equivalent

• Ability to sew efficiently
• Ability to use hand tools
• Ability to work in team setting or independently
• Ability to understand processes and instructions
• Ability to read tape measurements
• Ability to read and follow standard operations processes
• Ability to cross train
• Ability to wear all required PPE

• Sitting at workstation
• Bending to put finished work together.
• Twisting while pulling parts into workstation.
• Pinching work with fingers during sewing.
• Lifting up to maximum of 25lbs occasionally.
• Cutting occasionally.
• Pressing power pedal with foot.
• Basic machine and work area maintenance/housekeeping

Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
