We're looking for an experienced Jacket Machine Operator to join our Bindery team. In this role, you will independently operate jacket machines to apply printed dust jackets to hardcover books while ensuring quality, safety, and productivity from day one.

Key Responsibilities

* Operate jacket machines to place printed dust jackets onto hardcover books, ensuring proper alignment, fit, and finish

* Independently set up, adjust, and run the jacket machine to meet production and quality standards

* Review schedules and work orders to confirm correct materials and specifications

* Conduct quality inspections and prepare skid tickets and production documentation

* Stack finished books on skids or cartons and apply shipping labels as required

* Monitor spray systems and complete production tie-out accurately

* Keep machine and work area clean, organized, and safe

* Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and preventative maintenance

* Assist with training other operators as assigned

* Follow all safety, ISO, JWI, SOP, and company procedures

Preferred Requirements

* 1+ year of hands-on experience operating jacket machines in a bindery or book manufacturing environment

* Ability to independently run the machine with minimal supervision

* Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

* Experience performing quality checks in a production environment

* Ability to read work orders and perform basic math and measurements

* Dependable, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious
