Georgia‑Pacific – Production Operator – Gurdon Plywood Facility
We manufacture pine plywood panels and siding for residential and light commercial construction such as subflooring, wall and roof sheathing, and concrete formwork. The role is based in Gurdon, Arkansas.
Salary- $20.00 per hour
- $1.50 shift differential for night shift
- Potential for pay increases based on skills and performance
- Flexible to work any shift (first, second, third), including overtime, holidays, and weekends
- Orientation on day shift; permanent shift after orientation
- Candidate must be eligible for points‑based attendance program

What You Will Do- Pull and lift plywood, panels, or scraps up to 25 pounds
- Assemble veneer cores by layering sheets according to specified patterns
- Assist in clean‑up, operation, and maintenance of production equipment, including machine and forklift operation
- Adhere to plant safety and environmental guidelines and proactively identify potential hazards while wearing required safety equipment
- Read and comprehend written instructions to complete assigned tasks
- Work cooperatively with supervisors, co‑workers, and other associates to meet safety, production, and quality goals
- Cross train on various machines to increase operational knowledge
- Work any hours, including a variety of shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
- Prior experience in manufacturing, military, industrial, farming, agriculture, landscaping, carpentry, mechanical, or construction environment
- Experience using a smartphone, computer, or tablet
- At least two years of consistent experience in manufacturing, military, industrial, farming, agriculture, landscaping, carpentry, mechanical, or construction environment
- Experience driving and operating a forklift or other mobile equipment (e.g., bobcats, cranes)
- Experience working in wood products (lumber, plywood, or timber industry)
- One year of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
- Walk on elevated catwalks over 15 feet high to perform daily duties
- Work in a non‑climate‑controlled mill, with dust, noise, and temperatures that may vary
- Perform tasks such as lifting (up to 50 lbs), walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling up to 12 hours per day
