Responsibilities
- Adjust welder settings based on metallurgical properties of metal used in blueprint to ensure quality welds.
- Work from blueprints to set up and weld parts using appropriate fixtures.
- Operate hand grinders as needed.
- Visually inspect work and fixturing on an ongoing basis to check quality standards and appearance of the product.
- High School Diploma, GED, or demonstrated ability to read, write, and perform mathematical calculations at a high school level.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 70 lbs.
- Ability to do other duties as assigned.
- 1-year experience MIG Welding in a production setting.
- Ability to read and follow welding symbols on blueprints.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work in a cooperative manner to support a team environment.
- Associate’s Degree in any field.
- AWS Certification.
- Knowledge of metallurgical properties or related coursework.
- 3-5 years experience MIG Welding in a production setting.
Typical shop floor with possible exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, heat, cold, noise, vibration, oil, and water. May be exposed to any number of these elements.
