Salary: $16.00 + $1.00 shift differential
Shift: Wednesday-Saturday 6:00 pm – 6:00 am
Responsibilities- The packaging operator performs both bagging and baler functions as determined by the Shift Leads.
- Operates machinery productively while following safety guidelines and procedures.
- Assists other production areas as needed.
- Moves and wraps completed products.
- Lifts up to 50 lbs and stands for a minimum of 7 hours per day.
- Assists Shift Leads to start and stop the pellet mills.
- Communicates moisture or material problems to Shift Lead.
- Maintains a clean workstation.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Operates bagging, baler, shrink‑wrapping machines, forklifts, pallet jacks, and bag sealers.
- Stacks bags on pallets, covers pallets, and places finished goods in the correct warehouse location.
- Completes the Bagger production report accurately, fills pellet sample cups for every ton, and tags pallets with quality control information.
- Stacks bales on pallets, seals bales with an iron, and wraps pallets.
- Completes the Baler Operator production report accurately, checks bale weight, and records information on reports and quality control tags.
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Prior forklift and production line experience preferred.
- Demonstrates good eye, hand, and foot coordination.
- Completes company forklift training.
- Reads and interprets scales.
- Has mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills for adjusting baler weight and timing, and simple maintenance.
