Seasonal/Temporary Agricultural Equipment Operator

Moro, AR.

Workers will be required to perform a variety of duties such as:

• Mix specified materials or chemicals, and dump solutions, powders, or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery.
• Spray fertilizer or pesticide solutions to control insects, fungus and weed growth, and diseases.
• Observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions.
• Manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery for cultivating, planting, spraying, watering, harvesting, storing crops.
• Operate or tend large, high horsepower farm equipment used in agricultural production such as tractor, combine, sprayer, planter, grain cart, mower to produce crops such as cotton, corn, and soybeans.
• Adjust farm machinery and notify supervisors when machinery malfunctions.
• Drive truck to haul crops, supplies, tools, or farm workers.
• Attach farm implements such as plows, discs, planters, harvesters to tractors using bolts and hand tools.
• Operate towed machines such as seed drills or spreaders to plant, fertilize, dust, and spray crops.
• Irrigate soil using portable pipes or ditch systems and maintain ditches or pipes and pumps by rolling out pipe and poking holes.

Approximate staggered entry: 10 workers to begin Feb 1 and 2 workers to begin March 1.
