Maintenance Planner

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Maintenance Planner for our lumber mill in Gurdon, AR. As a Maintenance Planner you will create value by utilizing strong organizational and planning skills to prioritize work with the proper sense of urgency.

Review work requests with Operations and Maintenance to set work priorities.

Plan work orders to ensure safety, scope of work, parts and labor are added to each work while understanding which work orders may require an in-depth job plan.

Lead and facilitate small groups of people to develop job plans to ensure success in the quality of work and the accuracy of costs with labor and materials.

Interpret Bills of Materials, drawings, instructional manuals, and standard procedures as needed to ensure integration into MP2.

Maintain and control work order backlogs awaiting planning and/or scheduling in accordance with the Gate Keeper’s needs.

Verify the availability of parts, materials and special tools required for job execution prior to scheduling.

Have knowledge of each department’s Preventative Maintenance workload.

Schedule to 90% labor loading and work with the Maintenance Supervisor to achieve 85% completion rate on planned work.

Coordinate with contractors to ensure scope of work and adequate resources are used.

Other responsibilities as assigned.

• Three (3) years or more of industrial maintenance experience
• Experience leading and facilitating meetings
• Experience using MP2

• A technical degree with Mechanical Maintenance or Engineering
• Experience evaluating and categorizing loss‑time data
