Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Supervisor with duties in the assigned area while ensuring that job tasks, assignments, and rotations are being followed.
- Perform a variety of production-focused tasks to support daily production goals.
- Coordinate and assist with process setup before the department starts and tear down after the end of shift.
- Pay attentiveness to equipment operation and processes with prompt notification to Supervisor or proper personnel of any malfunction and/or safety concerns as they arise.
- Follow directions given by Supervisor to assign and instruct personnel of daily production duties.
- Perform all other assigned duties that may require checks and measurements, ensuring adherence to GMP policy and safety guidelines are being met by everyone.
- Maintain punctual and regular attendance for scheduled work hours.
- Ensure the assigned area of responsibility is kept in a manner that is considered good housekeeping.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by Supervisor.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Bilingual abilities are a plus.
- Must be able to work in a team atmosphere and possess good leadership skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and follow verbal and written instructions & policies.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to walk or stand.
- Follow all safety, USDA, and GMP policies and guidelines.
- Must have working knowledge of all positions on the line.
- Must be able to become pallet jack certified – if required by area working in.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly needed to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to work on a computer, telephone, keyboard or radio. It may also require occasional lifting, up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
WorkingConditions & Travel Requirements
- Work is performed in a food processing plant with a high noise level, storage coolers/facilities.
- Position requires working around processing plant equipment.
- Must be physically capable of working extended hours, standing for long periods of time, and operating processing equipment.
- This position requires the individual to wear and work in personal protective equipment while in the manufacturing environment.
- The noise level of the office environment is usually moderate; the noise level in the manufacturing environment may exceed 85 DBA and require hearing protection.
- The work environment could be hot, dry, dusty, or cold, wet, and damp.
- May work with raw and/or cooked meat.
