Description

The Tooling and Machining Specialist will support engineering through continuous improvements in machining.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Manufacture custom fixtures and tools for use throughout the plant
  • Support engineering through continuous improvement in machining
  • Lead 5S activities and standardization efforts in machine shop
  • Collaborate with engineering to develop a robust training program for new hire machinists
  • Assist programmers and operators with machining prove outs
  • Identify areas in machining for process improvements using objective, quantifiable measurements
  • Research, test and implement cutting edge tooling
  • Create preventive maintenance schedules for machining operations
  • Submit monthly cost savings report
For This Role, You Will Need:
  • 3 years of experience in production CNC machining (high mix/low volume preferred)
  • Experience machining custom fixtures and tools for manufacturing operations
  • Knowledge of various CNC equipment, tooling and controllers (i.e., mills, lathes, Fanuc, MAPPS IV, Haas, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and experience using precision measuring equipment
  • Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing principles
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, analytical and decision-making skills, and PC skills including Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
  • 5+ years of experience in production CNC machining
  • CAD/CAM software experience
  • IT/Networking knowledge
  • Experience creating standard work documentation in a manufacturing environment
