Position SummaryThe Kiln Supervisor is responsible for providing direct supervision and leadership of team members to support kiln operations. They are also an engaging safety leader who will manage a highly motivated team in a technical and fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Job Responsibilities- Provide direct supervision and leadership of crew members to support the kiln drying operation. Supervise the stacking, drying, and storing operations of in-process lumber products.
- Lead continuous improvement initiative efforts in safety, quality and productivity.
- Coordinate with maintenance and production personnel at all levels to continually strive for operational excellence.
- Lump/packaging production and shipping.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in kiln processes.
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ supervising or leading a team.
- Post-secondary education is preferred but not required.
- Thorough knowledge of lumber manufacturing including equipment and
- Thorough knowledge of lumber handling
- Strong analytical abilities and working knowledge of lumber handling and kiln processes.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work effectively in a highly interactive team environment.
- Detail and results oriented.
