Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to optimize production processes, improve product quality, and increase manufacturing efficiency. The role focuses on developing and implementing manufacturing layouts, tooling, and process controls, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and support new product introductions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and validate manufacturing processes, tooling, and fixtures to meet product specifications and production targets.
  • Create and optimize manufacturing layouts and workflow to improve efficiency, reduce cycle times, and maximize space utilization.
  • Collaborate with product design, quality, and production teams to support new product introductions and process transfers.
  • Perform time studies, capacity planning, and process capability analyses to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Develop work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials for production staff.
  • Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for production issues using structured problem-solving methods (e.g., 8D, DMAIC).
  • Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, 5S) to reduce waste and lower costs.
  • Support procurement and supplier development for manufacturing tooling and equipment specifications.
  • Utilize CAD models and drawings to create manufacturing documentation and validate manufacturability.
  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as yield, scrap, lead time, and OEE to management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing engineering role preferred.
  • Proficiency with CAD software for tooling and fixture design (e.g., Solid Works, Creo).
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling design, and production layout principles.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for data analysis and reporting.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience with process documentation, SOP creation, and training production personnel.
  • Preferred: experience as an Industrial Engineer or in industrial engineering principles, and familiarity with manufacturing equipment and shop floor operations.
