Position Overview
Part‑time Youth Minister. The youth minister is responsible for leading and nurturing the spiritual growth of youth (7th‑12th grade) within the church community. This role involves planning, developing, and implementing programs that foster faith, leadership and community engagement while creating a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for all youth.

Key Responsibilities- Plan, organize, and lead youth group meetings, Bible studies and special events.
- Develop and implement a balanced youth ministry program that includes worship, discipleship, fellowship, service and outreach.
- Stay informed about trends in youth culture and ministry to ensure programs remain relevant and impactful.
- Build meaningful relationships with youth, providing mentorship, encouragement and spiritual guidance.
- Be available to counsel youth and their families on spiritual and personal matters.
- Encourage youth to actively participate in the life of the church, including worship services and volunteer opportunities.
- Foster a sense of community among youth by organizing retreats, mission trips and service projects.
- Collaborate with parents, church staff and other ministries to ensure alignment with the church’s mission and vision.
- Act as a liaison between the church and local schools or community organisations to expand outreach opportunities.
- Manage the youth ministry budget and resources effectively.
- Maintain clear communication with parents, youth and church leadership through bulletin, social media and other platforms.
- Ensure all activities comply with church policies, including safety and child‑protection guidelines.
- A strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to living out Christian values.
- Experience working with youth in a ministry or similar setting.
- Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire and connect with youth from diverse backgrounds.
- Familiarity with technology and social media as tools for ministry is a plus.
- In accordance with our church’s Child Protection Policy, candidates selected for further consideration will be required to complete a background check, provided by the church at no cost.
- This position requires flexibility, including evening and weekend availability for youth events, retreats and church services.
- The youth minister will work closely with church leadership and report to the Senior Pastor or designated supervisor.
- Hold regular meetings with the youth committee (at least quarterly) to discuss plans and initiatives.
- Teach youth during Sunday school and Wednesday night services (year‑round) and AWANA programme. Must have a responsible substitute in the event of absence.
- Select and organise literature for Wednesday night classes to enhance learning.
- Plan, direct and schedule youth activities regularly, preferably monthly and at least quarterly.
- Assist with Vacation Bible School (VBS).
- Manage the annual budget request for youth programmes, maintaining detailed records of all finances related to youth trips and activities.
- Communicate with parents, youth and church members about upcoming events and activities for the youth group.
- Provide an update of all aspects of the youth ministry programme to the church body at monthly business meetings.
