Acute Trauma Surgical Unit Nurse

Tri Star Summit Medical Center is a 234‑bed comprehensive hospital and Level III Trauma Center located in Tennessee, serving Davidson, Wilson and surrounding counties. The Acute Trauma Surgical Unit (33 beds) manages pre‑ and post‑surgical patients across specialties such as General, GI, Urology, Orthopedic, Spine, Podiatry, and Plastics.

• Deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care according to department requirements and state and specialty practice standards.
• Collaborate with physicians and the care team to provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using the “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage” model.
• Assess patients during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in status.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the provider and document care accurately and promptly in the medical record.
• Respond promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipate needs, and resolve them.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient’s condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow‑up measures, ensuring full understanding.

• Registered Nurse with licensure by the Tennessee Board of Nursing or a compact state Board of Nursing.
• Preferred:
  Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
• Preferred:
  At least one year of clinical nursing experience.
