Job Summary

As a Surgical ICU Nurse, you will deliver high-quality patient-centered care in accordance with nursing standards and collaborate with the care team to meet quality goals. You will coordinate interventions, monitor patients, document care, and educate families, advocating for patients and supporting recovery.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and deliver patient-centered care per department standards.
  • Collaborate with medical providers and the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement holistic treatment plans.
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, and other functions as ordered.
  • Document administration of care in the medical record timely and thoroughly.
  • Teach patients and families about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up measures.
  • Translate complex medical terminology for clear understanding.
  • Educate about lifestyle changes and disease prevention.
  • Prepare families for self-management.
  • Manage evidence-based practices and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or BCLS Instructor, or CPR certification within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or ACLS Instructor within 6 months of employment start date.
