College Nurse (Part-Time Faculty Pool)

• Provides clinical care including preventative care, health education, assessment, treatment and/or referral for acute illnesses and injuries.
• Adheres to Health Services and college policies and procedures, applicable county, state, and federal regulations, license and standards to ensure compliance.
• Presents current and accurate health educational and wellness resources for students to support their physical and mental health.
• Maintains secure, accessible system of confidential medical records in accordance with HIPAA, and State and Federal laws.
• Utilizes advanced technological skills to maintain an electronic medical record keeping system.
• Collaborates with other campus departments in meeting the health needs of the campus community to promote student wellness and appropriate referrals.
• Serves as a resource for the college community on issues of health promotion, disease prevention, safety and health advocacy, including participation in outreach events and classroom presentations.
• Otherwise fulfills all of the duties and responsibilities of instructors as required by Administrative Regulation 7122.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s in nursing and a California Public Health Nurse certificate and five years of experience and/or a California School Nurse Credential.
• Evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of diverse student backgrounds and equity‑minded practice.

• Experience and skill incorporating diversity, equity, and inclusion into all areas of responsibility.
• Recent experience working with racially minoritized students in the classroom.
• Willingness to examine and remediate instructional practices to support racially minoritized students.
• Experience with students of diverse backgrounds, disabilities, gender identities, sexual orientations, and socioeconomic statuses.
• Demonstrated ability to work with computers and technologies used in instruction.
• Excellent communication with students and staff.
• Public health, school nurse/college nurse, occupational health nurse experience.
• Ability to maintain confidential records.
• Knowledge of community college mission and goals.

• Newly hired part‑time faculty placed on step one (1) of the Part‑Time Faculty Salary Schedule.
• Salary classification based on education and experience as per the schedule.
• Sick leave accrual based on assignment hours.
