Priority consideration will be provided to internal applicants first. Applicants with previous agricultural or production experience will be considered preferred. Applicants must reside in the United States to be considered for an interview.

Requirements:
Must have at least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no additional job gaps in employment greater than 6 months in the past 36 months. If applicant has been laid off or providing child or elder care, the employment gap will be increased to 18 months. Previous work history will not apply to applicants who have been full time students consecutively for the last 36 months.

Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days.

Rehire Rule of no more than 3 times worked at Cobb/Tyson Foods.

Schedule:

Sunday through Wednesday, including weekends and holidays

Hours:

6:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Work Schedule is subject to change based upon production needs

Position Summary:

  • Attends to and cares for hens by insuring the flock has adequate feed, water, and ventilation. Collects and inspects eggs to ascertain quality and fitness for incubation by performing the below duties. Other duties may be assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collects eggs from egg table, pick up eggs from floor, and record number of eggs laid (35%)
  • Collects and handles eggs by observing/grades/cleans and records egg quality; distributes or disposes according to Cobb standard (30%)
  • Weighs feed, handles birds and weighs birds according to schedules (15%)
  • Changes and cleans nest pads, dusts nests, cleans walls and ceilings, maintains egg room in a clean state and performs other routine housekeeping duties; add/change litter (10%)
  • Records information according to instructions such as egg numbers, bird weight, medications, feed intake, mortality, and production percentage (5%)

Other duties, responsibilities, and activities:

  • Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice, such as:
    Records number of floor eggs and works to eliminate these by training hens to use nest boxes; monitors feed, water, and ventilation systems; sanitation of egg collection room and change foot pans; properly euthanize weak/ill birds in accordance with company policy; remove dead; maintain rat bat stations; spray insecticides; maintain a biosecure environment; walks the inside of poultry houses; collects weekly swabs for testing;

    performs minor maintenance; dispose of daily mortality; keeps poultry houses supplied with proper materials. Will be required to clean out poultry houses, disinfect houses to prepare for birds. Set up house for new birds, as needed. (5%)

Biosecurity/Animal Welfare/Safety Requirements:

  • The jobsite is a biosecure environment which requires showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility. Appropriate clothing and footwear is provided by the Company.
