The Charge Nurse (OR) promotes the efficient and timely flow of cases through the operating room. Demonstrates ability to resolve issues in an equitable fashion as delineated by policies and procedures defining utilization of the Operating Room. Responsible for the coordination of the surgical schedule on a daily basis. Provides internal problem resolution and trouble-shooting related to operations of the operating room.
Responsible for assignment of Operating Room Nursing Staff. Directs the staff during emergency situations in the Operating Room. Functions as the charge nurse for the Operating Room.
- ADN, BSN, OR BA/BS with MSN.
- Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS).
- ACLS, PALS, or NRP (only in select units/departments) must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
- Current Registered Nursing License (Georgia) or qualifying multi-state compact license.
- Previous experience as an OR Control Desk Coordinator is desired.
- CNOR.
