Your next role as a Miracle Maker

Maravai Life Sciences is seeking a #Miracle Maker to join our Custom Development team as a Laboratory Associate I. As a Laboratory Associate I, you will be responsible for lab bench sample preparation, chromatography, large format 2D-electrophoresis, spot counting, data analysis, and report writing and review. Demonstrated working knowledge of lab-based research, method development, testing, custom services life science or pharmaceutical industrial application is preferred.

The Laboratory Associate I will execute protocols under the direct supervision of the Director, R&D.

How you will make an impact:
  • Receive, label, store, and report customer samples.
  • Perform chromatography of customer samples via FPLC and 2D-PAGE.
  • Analyze 2D-PAGE data with spot counting software and write reports.
  • Author SOPs and develop new data analysis tools.
  • Maintain lab instruments and consumable steady state levels.
  • Maintaining sample inventory and defrosting refrigerators and freezers.
  • Dispose of hazardous chemicals in compliance with EHS.
  • Place purchase orders via ERP software.
  • Record data in lab notebooks and data binders.
  • Present data at lab meetings.
  • Perform buffer exchange and sample concentrations.
  • Develop and optimize workflows.
  • Prepare LC solvents in scheduled intervals.
  • Perform other functions and duties as required.
The skills and experience that you will bring:
  • Degree in Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry or similar Life Science
    • Associate degree with 2 years or BS and 1 year of biotechnology industry experience
  • Experience documenting work in laboratory notebooks; GLP/GDP experience a plus.
  • Experience running FPLC; executing protocols and analyzing data a plus
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products;
